Kessingland Beach has always been a beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon amid the dunes. Now residents are thrilled that the beach has earned a Quality Coast award for 2012.
The award, also known as the Blue Flag Beach Prize, is given by Keep Britain Tidy, and celebrates Britain’s cleanest, safest and most outstanding stretches of coastline. Winners of the award can fly the prestigious Blue Flag over the beach.
Kessingland Beach is a truly deserving spot, with its unspoilt dunes and proximity to the village’s famous caravan parks. The local council has done a great job in recent years of making sure that the beach is kept tidy.
With Suffolk’s beaches being nationally recognised as some of the best in Britain, it’s no wonder that this summer is set to be a bumper year for the East Anglian tourist industry. If you haven’t booked your summer holiday yet, why not go British and see what Kessingland has to offer?
