The long saga of Kessingland’s proposed skate park may be nearing its conclusion, as the Parish Council has stepped in to help the project secure the land it needs.

At the moment, the required land is leased from the council by the Kessingland Sports and Social Club, who are against the project. However, council officials have informed the Social Club that the terms of their lease state that their decision making process in unlawful, as a council member must be present at board meetings.
The council are doing everything in their power to persuade the Social Club that a skate park would be good for the village and provide a space for youngsters to skate safely.
It’s clear that there are strong feelings on both side of this issue, but what do you think? Is a skate park a valuable community asset or a disaster-in-waiting? Let us know below in our comments section.
