Spring has definitely sprung at Africa Alive! as keepers celebrate the birth of three rare Barbary lambs, ordinarily native to the mountainous, arid landscapes of North Africa.

The Barbary sheep evolved to survive on a sparse diet of grass, bushes and lichen, and are known for their distinctive upward-curving horns. When full-grown, as well as for their extreme agility which allows them to leap from rock to rock and scale incredible heights without losing their grip. These incredible animals can also jump a whopping 7ft from a standing start.

A spokesman for Africa Alive! told the Evening News: “Keepers at Africa Alive are absolutely delighted with the new arrivals at the park.” Visitors will get the chance to interact with the lambs as soon as they are able to walk and fend for themselves.

Africa Alive! is making an effort to include a variety of cute and cuddly animals to complement their fearsome array of African predators, giving a complete look at the vast range of animal life found on the African continent.

The incredible East Anglia Transport Museum kicks off its fun-packed 2013 season with a special event celebrating the region’s transport heritage. Fantastic vehicles from bygone ages will be in operation all around the site, giving you the chance to ride, photograph and enjoy these incredible artefacts!

This special event takes place on Sunday 28th April 2013, and the museum is laying on a special free half-hourly bus service from both Lowestoft and Beccles, using hitoric buses from the Museum collection.

Vehicles both large and small from the museum’s extensive collection that are not usually available for public use will be operating around the site, many of which will offer you the chance to ride alongside the driver. In addition, a selection of visiting classic and vintage vehicles of all types will be on display with some joining the museum’s own fleet out on the road for a historic parade.
